This years annual Daytona Bike Week is held on the 9th-18th March and promises to be the biggest and best yet. Held at Florida’s world famous Daytona Beach, this celebration of bikes, beer and babes attracts visitors from across the globe who relax in the balmy southern climate and embrace everything bike related. There really is no event like this anywhere else and the sight of literally thousands of bikers all in one place at the same time is mind boggling.
Numerous bikers from the north head south to escape the chillier climes and many see it as the rite of spring, and they make the most of their chance to scoot around as nature intended. This is also the home to the Coca Cola Pavilion, which plays host to numerous well known performers from around the world and particularly during bike week, it is massively popular. It’s worthwhile checking out in advance who will be appearing there during bike week as tickets sell out quickly for all the shows.
The events that make up Daytona bike week are restricted to the beach area,and are scattered all around downtown Daytona. Main Street is particularly buzzing as the shop is effectively shut down for normal trading for the duration and and at any bar, store or shop you will find something special to coincide with bike week. There is a party atmosphere from start to finish with the emphasis being, naturally, on bikes and beer, with some babes thrown in for good measure.
Daytona bike week rates second only to Sturgis, South Dakota for biking events, and it certainly has a great reputation that it rightly deserves. It can be a problem driving in the area due to the volume of bikes on the roads, but this isn’t a time to be on four wheels anyway.
