If you’re coming to Orlando in Florida then you are probably going to visit some of the best theme parks in the world.
These places, such as Disney World and Universal Studios, do a fantastic job of providing thrills and excitement.
When it comes to beauty however, there is nothing quite like the nature surrounding Orlando and for many it will outstrip the excitement they have at the areas incredible theme parks. One of the best ways to enjoy the nature that Orlando has to offer is to go out into the Everglades on an airboat.
There are many rental services offering air boats in and around Orlando. You will find that they are operated on a tour basis and are a very fun filled and educational experience. An airboat is a vehicle that is low to the ground and is moved by a large propeller attached to the back.
Airboats can take a lot of people and even the smallest ones can seat seven people including the pilot. On one of these tours you will see a stunning amount of wildlife including alligators, raccoons, turtles, birds and wild turkeys.
The routes that different operators use does vary, so look around the different companies to find one operating a route that you want to explore. One of the most popular routes is the St John’s River but there are also fantastic airboat rides going out to Lake Toho. Prices are quite reasonable and generally cost around $50 for an hour and a half trip. This does vary depending on which operating you go with however.
Most of the operators are based around the Orlando area with several being close to the Kennedy Space Centre. A full list of operators can be found online which makes selecting one a very simple process.
