Kissimmee is a city in central Florida and is very close to many of the theme parks that Florida is famous for such as Disney World. It was also recently found to be one of the fastest-growing cities in the USA, but being located in central Florida means that the city does not benefit from some of the wonderful beaches that the cities along the coast do.
The city does manage to draw in many tourists, however, because it has a great many water parks which boast some of the largest water slides in the US. The weather in Florida is consistently good and these parks remain busy all year round and in the peak season you will find them teeming with tourists and locals looking for a place to cool down.
If you are looking for something a little more natural than it a good idea to head to Lake Toho. Here, you will be able to enjoy fishing and even take an airboat ride across the lake. There are also several golf courses nearby and many of these are famous in the region for their beautiful location and excellent greens.
If you are looking for something a bit more adventurous then there are some airborne experiences that you can take part in. Taking a hotair balloon ride will give you a beautiful view of this part of the US and will be an experience that you will never forget. There are also a great many botanical Gardens and areas of outstanding natural beauty in central Florida that can be visited from Kissimmee.
For those who visit this part of Florida in the spring months then it would be worth visiting what has recently been voted as the best sports centre in the United States. The Osceola Stadiums hosts a major league baseball team in the spring and there are also many football matches held in the stadium throughout these months.
The United States is famous for its sprawling shopping malls and the city of Kissimmee is no exception. The mall in the city has a huge range of designer labels and is one of the largest shopping locations anywhere in the state.
In the evening time you will find that Kissimmee has an excellent nightlife and there is really something to suit everyone. You can start off by having a meal at one of the excellent restaurants in the town and if you are looking for the heart of the nightlife in the city then it is worthwhile heading to the Old Town.
The city is known for its street parties and throughout the year music and people will spill onto the streets for dancing and partying the night away. There is also a night cruise on Fridays where people take classic cars for a drive around the city. If you have an interest in motoring this is a fantastic way to see some classic American cars. Accommodation in the area is affordable and most attractions can be easily reached from wherever you are staying.
